CCPCJ
The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) was established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) resolution 1992/1, upon request of General Assembly (GA) resolution 46/152, as one of its functional commissions.

The Commission acts as the principal policymaking body of the United Nations in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. ECOSOC provided for the CCPCJ’s mandates and priorities in resolution 1992/22, which include improving international action to combat national and transnational crime and the efficiency and fairness of criminal justice administration systems. The CCPCJ also offers Member States a forum for exchanging expertise, experience and information in order to develop national and international strategies, and to identify priorities for combating crime.

DISEC
The First Committee deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime.

It considers all disarmament and international security matters within the scope of the Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any other organ of the United Nations; the general principles of cooperation in the maintenance of international peace and security, as well as principles governing disarmament and the regulation of armaments; promotion of cooperative arrangements and measures aimed at strengthening stability through lower levels of armaments.

The Committee works in close cooperation with the United Nations Disarmament Commission and the Geneva-based Conference on Disarmament. It is the only Main Committee of the General Assembly entitled to verbatim records coverage.

BM Kadın Birimi olarak da bilinen Birleşmiş Milletler Toplumsal Cinsiyet Eşitliği ve Kadının Güçlenmesi Birimi, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanması ve kadınların güçlenmesi için çalışan bir Birleşmiş Milletler kuruluşudur.

BM Kadın Birimi, Ocak 2011’de faaliyete başlamıştır BM Kadın Birimi, Birleşmiş Milletler Kalkınma Grubu’nun bir üyesidir ve BM Genel Sekreterliği çatısı altında faaliyet göstermektedir.

BM Kadın Biriminin yetki ve görevleri, Kadınların İlerlemesi Birimi (Division for the Advancement of Women-DAW), Kadınların İlerlemesi İçin Uluslararası Araştırma ve Eğrim Enstitüsü (International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women-INSTRAW), Toplumsal Cinsiyet İşleri ve Kadınların İlerlemesi Özel Danışmanı Ofisi (Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women-OSAGI) ve Birleşmiş Milletler Kadınlar Kalkınma Fonu (United Nations Development Fund for Women- UNIFEM) organlarının görev ve yetkilerinin birleşiminden oluşur. Buna ek olarak, BM Kadın Birimi toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ve kadınların güçlendirilmesi konusunda hesap verebilirlik ilkesinin uygulanmasını sağlamalı ve koordine etmelidir. BM Kadın Biriminin amacı, bünyesinde birleştirilen organların amaçlarını değiştirmek değil “geliştirmek, artırmaktır ve bu alanda uzmanlık sağlamak” olarak belirtilmektedir.
